Front limb Vetarinary Splint

Front limb Splint

SKU. OR011

Injuries to the limbs of small animals often require bandages or splints. This new front limb splint is modeled like human splints, which are common in leg, tarsal and foot injuries. Composed of thermo-deformable polypropylene for better adaptation to the front or back extremities of the animal, they are covered with Neoprene and extend completely under the foot. Canine splints can be used in cases of neurological deficits, neuropraxias and other problems of the brachial plexus and radial nerve. We can also use them in cases of fractures, fissures and even soft tissue injuries that require a certain degree of immobilization.

  • The measure "A" necessary to choose the size of the splint is the length from the height of the carpus and passing the tape behind the extremity and below the foot, to the tip of the longest toe.
  • Measure "B" is not necessary but represents the total length of the splint. Using a flexible tape measure, and passing it under the foot of the animal, is the measure that goes from the tip of the longest finger to the middle of the leg (put the animal in station). The splint must not exceed the height of the elbow.
